Rex The Dog
blog_rexthedog

It was sometime after the turn of the millennium with a few years spent as a member of Planet Perfecto that veteran producer Jake Williams adopted the Rex the Dog moniker in reference to 1950s DC Comics character. He tracked down a Korg 700S synthesizer that had been used on the Normal’s “Warm Leatherette” and Depeche Mode’s Speak & Spell album, and used it almost exclusively to create the tracks for the first two Rex 12″s, Prototype and Frequency, which appeared on Kompakt in 2004.

Both of these releases proved immensely popular with DJs and compilers. Customary remix work followed for The Knife, The Sounds, Soulwax, Röyksopp, Mylo, and his heroes Depeche Mode.

He releases nowadays on his own label Hundehaus Records

Directed by acclaimed director Geoffroy De Crecy (brother of Etiennne) and is basically just a cardboard DIY stop motion video. Taken from the “The Rex The Dog Show” album out on Hundehaus Records.
