Paul Rose, aka Scuba, artist and head of the Hotflush imprint explained once that it was never intended to be a dubstep label but that life sometimes gets in the way of one’s intentions. Today, Hotflush is one of the most well-known, respected and productive labels in a seemingly ever-expanding scene.
In dubstep, where jungle, reggae and dub are often referred to as major influences, Paul’s roots lies more in the minimalist techno proximity which perhaps explains why he moved from dubstep London to techno Berlin.
