The Knife

The Knife is Olof Dreijer and Karin Dreijer Andersson. They are based in Stockholm, Sweden and have made music together since 1999, released on their own label Rabid Records. This Swedish brother-and-sister duo work mostly on their own in splendid isolation and they rarely play live since they’re still wrestling with the old conundrum of how to present ‘computer music’ in an interesting way on the stage.
The Knife don’t do anything by half, and they don’t do anything twice. Compromise is the enemy, repetition a cop-out.

The video tells the story of a performing drag queen, played by Rickard Engfors, and his reluctant audience. Director Johan Renck from R.A.F. manages to capture an extreme tension, and the influence music has on us all. Shot in a dingy suburb of Stockholm late 2003. Released on Rabid Records.
