WhoMadeWho

Danish trio WhoMadeWho uses a variety of synths, funk bass lines and vocals to bring new talent to the electro/house dance floor. Their self-titled debut album on Gomma Records in 2005, and subsequent release “Out The Door,” were made thriftily, but delivered to the growing audience of disco indie pop addicts. Bass player Tomas Høffding lends his characteristic falsetto to most tracks, while Jeppe Kjellberg keeps the funk with his chomping guitar. Tomas Barfod adds an electronic disco beat and ambient, although their distinct indie pop sound endures. The Copenhagen dance scene might have trouble labeling WhoMadeWho, but the wider audience will appreciate the fact that they aren’t just about grimy disco beats, and write full-blown indie pop hits. Check them out at Gomma Records.

This video is about a guy (portrayed by singer Tomas Höffting) who is utterly unable to find any joy in his many endevours and ultimately, he dies unfulfilled. The message being that happiness lies in the process, not the result. The video is also a visual homage an homage to the American indie-director Wes Anderson, and were especially inspired by the title sequence from “The Royal Tenenbaums”. Directed by Copenhagen based Good Boy! Creative and released in 2009 on Gomma.
